Standards

Here are a few standards we work to within the design of our websites.

• W3C Accessibility guidelines: legislation requires that all websites must be accessible for the disabled, i.e. the visually impaired, the blind; those with colour blindness, those unable to use a mouse etc.

• Browser compatibility: even if the website works with your version of Internet Explorer, it is unlikely it will look the same or even work with other browsers and other versions. It’s no good if your website doesn’t work for a significant percentage of your customers.

• Good coding: if your website contains a complexity such as a online form or shopping cart, it’s essential that you get a professional web developer/programmer to do it. This is because code can have the appearance of working; but unless it is implemented correctly with error checking it can go seriously wrong but be undetectable, resulting in either data being hacked into or your forms being abused to send spam or viruses out to others.

• Screen Resolution: how will your website look on a smaller screen or lower resolution? We test our designs on resolutions that we anticipate your target audience will use.

For each website, we provide a initial design consultation to determine the design of the website. On the Corporate and Ecommerce packages, we design a mockup of your website and get this back to you for your approval. We strive to be inspired and look at your business in a new way, designing a website that will stand out yet be accessible to your target audience.
